Job Title: Avionics Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking an Avionics Engineer for a long-term, indefinite contract to perform full design and implementation of avionics systems for a CASA 212 upgrade. The role involves creating wiring diagrams and harness diagrams using AutoCAD, performing electrical load analysis, developing test procedures, and creating ICA (Instruction for Continued Airworthiness) documentation. This position also requires collaboration with Technicians on the shop floor for the implementation of designs.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services for the support of the C212, CN235, and C295 aircraft operating in the U.S.
- Design and certify avionic systems in 14 CFR Part 25 aircraft.
- Generate and review wiring drawings, wire routing schematics, electrical load analysis, technical reports, and other technical publications.
- Assist in the development of Certification plans, Test Procedures, ICA, AFMS, and Service Bulletins for new and existing projects.
- Develop documentation for new STC and non-STC avionic systems installations.
- Assist the production team with installations and troubleshooting of avionic systems.
- Assist in component repairs by generating instructions as needed.
- Act as a liaison between Airbus Military Spain and Airbus Military North America.
- Develop methods for uniform publication of document changes.
- Support protocol communications using digital buses.
- Act as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
- Observe safety procedures and personnel policies.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Avionics or Aeronautical/Aerospace) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace engineering.
- Knowledge of Aircraft Systems and FAA 14 CFR.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with electrical load analysis.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications of Airbus Military aircraft.
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office Suite, and various CAD programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, customers, and Technicians.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of EASA Certification Specifications (CS) is beneficial.
- Highly organized individual capable of working with limited supervision.
- STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) experience is a plus.
- Integrity-driven professional ensuring high-quality work.
- Experience in interacting cordially and productively with subordinates, co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office/hangar environment. The typical shift is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday, and 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM on Friday. Overtime may be required as needed. Travel is less than 25% domestic and international. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
