Job Title: Project Manager
Job Description
The Project Manager is primarily responsible for driving various customer-specific and internal projects to completion. This position will help create value through analyzing project results and assist in developing business decisions derived from these projects. The role involves working with the Operations group on monthly reporting of operational and financial metrics, interfacing with customers and business personnel as required, and other projects as needed. The Project Manager will identify and solve business issues using finance and modeling skills, requiring strong knowledge of finance/accounting, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Direct project supervision and project workflow.
- Maintain proper levels of quality control, meet all project schedules, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Communicate project status to management and clients.
- Develop project specifications and implement practices to achieve defined objectives to the satisfaction of the client and management.
- Maintain working knowledge of utility company policy and procedures to communicate effectively with various professional staffs from client companies.
- Be well versed in the basic tenets of line construction and maintenance.
- Have working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code and the ability to recognize distribution equipment and associated hazards.
- Maintain all confidences regarding highly sensitive and proprietary information.
- Manage/develop models for reporting operational KPIs and information flow into monthly performance reports.
- Interact with members of the Finance and Operations group to lead analysis of information in preparation for monthly leadership reports.
- Support members of the Finance and Operations group to aid understanding and articulation of business drivers, track, and submit projected revenue, earned value, and other operational metrics.
- Proactively participate in meetings with construction supervisors to obtain necessary technical, financial, and operational inputs for appropriate reporting.
- Assist the Estimating department in putting together new estimates based on historical reporting from past projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience with a contractor
- Detailed knowledge of project management fundamentals
- Financial studies and knowledge of the electricity and electrical construction market (preferred)
- Experience working for a self-performing contractor
- At least 4 years of experience in civil construction or high voltage electrical construction
- 4-year college degree (preferred)
Work Environment
The role involves 75% office work and 25% fieldwork, with local travel to project sites in Arizona. The person will work out of the Phoenix office for onboarding and on-the-job training and will start going to the field as they are deemed ready. The standard work schedule is 40 hours a week, with some flexibility required to meet project demands. Raises are given in June each year based on merit and performance. Bonuses are awarded based on reaching company budget goals. A company vehicle is provided.
