Field Service Engineer (Non Traveling)
Job Description
We are looking for Field Service Engineers to help install semiconductor equipment at our site in the Phoenix valley. This role requires you to interact directly with customers, troubleshoot issues, and manage escalations. You will need to express complex concepts for maintenance tasks and follow documented procedures with great attention to detail. Mechanical knowledge is essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repairs on complex electronic/electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment.
- Assist in customer escalations and manage beta-site projects.
- Create and maintain high levels of customer delight through advanced customer service skills and fast quality responses.
- Develop action plans for problem resolution and present them to internal and external customers.
- Develop improvements for processes, hardware, and software for continuous improvement of equipment and business practices.
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to and prevent others from performing work outside safety protocols.
- Install new equipment, upgrades, and system relocations at customer locations.
- Diagnose problems, identify and order components, and make necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with local and international technical support teams to solve problems.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize equipment daily to enhance functionality and prevent problems.
- Provide technical support to customers to correct system malfunctions.
- Train customers in the use and routine maintenance of equipment and assist them professionally.
- Perform administrative duties, including updating install status reports, project plans, procedures, and creating work orders.
- Coordinate labor and material resource planning.
- Support and assist less experienced personnel as necessary.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Wear cleanroom suits and respiratory/breathing air PPE as required.
- Work compressed shifts or extended hours, including weekend days.
Essential Skills
- Electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience through a BSEE/ME degree, internships, work experience, or hobbies.
- Knowledge of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
- At least 6 months of experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Troubleshooting electromechanical equipment.
- Experience working with hand tools like multimeters and wrenches.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in ALD, CVD, PVD, LTCVD, thin films, deposition.
- At least 9 months of semiconductor industry experience.
- At least 9 months of electrical/mechanical troubleshooting within a cleanroom.
- Experience using multimeters and scopes in a cleanroom environment.
- At least 6 months of field service/customer support experience and/or manufacturing experience in final assembly or test of semiconductor capital equipment.
- Knowledge in wafer fab, closed-loop gas and vacuum control, RG induced plasma, electro-pneumatic controls, microprocessor-based controllers, robotics, and basic software concepts.
- Experience with toxic and/or flammable gases and acids.
Work Environment
Onsite at TSMC in North Phoenix, with NO TRAVEL. Initial training during the day.Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts. Must wear cleanroom suits and respiratory PPE
