Job Title: HR Generalist


Job Description

Assist the Director of Human Resources in all aspects of human resource-related duties on a professional level and work closely with HR management in supporting benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment/employment, payroll, and policy implementation. Responsible for all new associates and temporary employee onboarding, orientation, and documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain updated personnel records, both manually and computer-based.
  • Procure candidates, conduct interviews, verify qualifications, hire and orient plant and office temporary associates, and maintain updated files and data.
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
  • Compile and prepare reports from employment records.
  • Investigate references and document findings in the file.
  • Assist associates with benefits questions/issues and contact insurance companies to update employee information or resolve issues.
  • Support office rules, regulations, and behavior.
  • Conduct and assist with all exit interviews with appropriate staff members.
  • Ensure E.E.O. administration and compliance with State/Federal Laws.
  • Administer recruiting advertisements for all hourly and non-exempt positions as needed.
  • Assist in updating company policies.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner and work towards achieving company safety goals.
  • Perform all work tasks in a quality manner to meet all internal and external requirements.
  • Perform payroll tasks, maintain time and attendance records, and other payroll/employee records.
  • Work towards achieving department and company goals.
  • Perform any other related duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Skills

  • 4-6 years of experience in HR administration
  • Bilingual (Spanish is a must)
  • Associate Degree or equivalent/Bachelor's preferred
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Laws and ability to comply with all laws
  • Knowledge of Workers Comp and OSHA Laws
  • Knowledge of Unemployment Procedures
  • Recruitment skills, interviewing, and reference checking
  • Decision-making skills
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills and organizational skills (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in employee relations, onboarding, recruitment, and Microsoft Office

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency
  • 4-6 years of experience
  • Law and payroll knowledge

Work Environment

Onsite, collaborative. Work in an environment where teamwork and collaboration are highly valued. The role involves working closely with various departments and requires strong communication and organizational skills.
