Job Description
Supervise construction efforts to ensure projects are constructed safely and in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions, including scheduling and subcontractor coordination. Ensure compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements, efficient use of materials and equipment, site safety plans, and timely performance of project schedules. Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, recommend construction methods and equipment, and assist project management in developing project schedules and site logistics plans. Support the Site-Specific Safety Plan and coordinate with on-site owner employees.
Responsibilities
- Supervise construction efforts to ensure safety and compliance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions such as scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
- Ensure compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements and site safety plans.
- Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
- Assist project management in developing project schedules, site logistics plans, and implementing project procedures.
- Support the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
- Coordinate with on-site owner employees.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
- 15 or more years of construction experience.
- 10 or more years' experience as a superintendent on heavy civil projects.
- Experience as a superintendent on projects valued over $500M.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
- Experience with City, State, and Federal Government Clients.
- Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft.
- Proficiency in MS Word/Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, and HCSS HeavyBid or similar software.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with earthworks.
- Experience in contract management.
Work Environment
This position involves working on construction sites and may require exposure to various weather conditions. The role demands the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Company offers either a relocation package or provides company housing for all relocating to the central valley.
