Job Title: QC Engineer
Job Description
The QC Engineer in Heavy Civil is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards. This role involves overseeing the implementation of quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for heavy civil construction projects.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities.
- Prepare and submit quality reports to the Project Manager.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to construction teams on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of QC/Inspector experience on Heavy Civil projects, specifically in highways and bridge projects.
- U.S. based experience.
- Stable work history.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with earthwork such as backfilling, compaction, embankment, and MSE work.
Work Environment
This position involves working on construction sites and may require exposure to various weather conditions. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. The company offers either a relocation package or provides company housing for all relocating to the central valley.
