Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Electronic Technician to join our team in assembling prototype PC Boards and assemblies for space applications and defense programs. This role involves soldering, PCB assembly, and repair work based on blueprints and schematics under J-Std standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop high-quality, reliable electrical and mechanical systems for space and defense industries.


Responsibilities

  • Perform soldering (through hole and surface mount) and PCB assembly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Repair and rework electronic components under J-Std standards.
  • Assemble and troubleshoot prototype assemblies in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Work on complex projects for the Navy, space industry avionics, and defense programs.
  • Handle small components, such as 20 and 32 gauge wires, often under a microscope.
  • Ensure high-quality and high-reliability standards in all assemblies and systems.

Essential Skills

  • 3-7+ years of soldering (through hole and surface mount) and PCB assembly experience, including microscope work.
  • 2+ years of experience with assembly for space, defense, or aerospace products in a prototype, R&D, or new product development setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering sketches.
  • Proficiency in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting avionics electronics and electro-mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with J-Std with Space Addendum and IPC Certifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with NASA Space specs or Defense specs.
  • Capability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge of space flight hardware and rugged aerospace-grade data-acquisition and control systems.

The position is based in a smaller shop with a team-oriented environment. Our company operates in commercial, space, and defense markets, providing rugged aerospace-grade data-acquisition and control systems for rockets, spacecraft, aircraft, and other remote platforms in extreme environments. We are a product-oriented space-technology firm known for our involvement in all major space missions, including the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, and NASA's Artemis program. Our recent merger with a Spanish company positions us for further growth and exciting new projects.
