Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Great opportunity with a large 75-person MEP firm in Rancho Cordova, looking for a skilled and design-focused Electrical Engineer. You will work directly with the Project Manager and production professionals to utilize Revit in completing both modernization/retrofit and new construction projects. Responsibilities

• Utilize Revit to complete electrical design projects.
• Work on both modernization/retrofit and new construction projects.
• Collaborate directly with the Project Manager and production professionals.
• Design and draft electrical systems for healthcare facilities, schools, residential and commercial builds,
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Revit or AutoCAD and ability to utilize them independently on all projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design, low voltage systems, MEP, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, power, and energy compliance software.
• Knowledge of OSHPD requirements.
• Experience with fire alarm design, photo metric, and Bluebeam.
• At least one previous position after undergraduate studies.
• Ability to take direction from the team leader.
• Experience with K12 projects, including fire alarm, telecom/data and voice systems, access control system, AV systems (classroom only), assisted listening system, clock and bell system, intercom and paging system, public address system (excluding large gyms/MPRs), intrusion alarm system, surveillance camera system (network wiring only), two-way communication (elevators), and nurse call systems.

Work Environment

They have a large modern office in Rancho Cordova, with an additional office in Long Beach that supports design projects. The workspace features an open pit layout, but each employee has a tall, walled cubicle with standing desks and dual monitors. The environment is quiet and has a corporate consulting feel. Principals have offices along the outside walls of the pit. The facility includes an on-site gym. The company offers flexible work schedules and promotes work-life balance.
