Job Title: Administrative Support Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking an adaptable and trainable individual to join our team as an Administrative Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling inbound calls, managing customer inquiries, and providing exceptional service to both commercial and residential customers. This role involves extensive phone communication, invoicing, and email correspondence.


Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and respond to customer requests.
  • Provide customers with service information.
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer issues using the computer system.
  • Transfer customer calls to appropriate staff and complete call logs/reports.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries not immediately resolved.
  • Research billing issues.
  • Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.
  • Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
  • Sell services and place customer orders in the computer system.
  • Schedule services for customers.
  • Assist other departments with questions.
  • Research misapplied payments.
  • Recognize, document, and alert supervisor to trends in customer calls.

Essential Skills:

  • High quality communication skills (excellent verbal and written)
  • Excellent typing and data entry proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask
  • Detail-oriented
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to learn customer service software
  • 1 to 3 years of office experience
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in the refuse industry
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Call center experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a relevant industry is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to make decisions independently and prioritize tasks
  • Problem-solving skills
