Job Title: Purification Lab Technician
Job Description
As a Purification Lab Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment before and after use, overseeing production operations, and performing various laboratory tasks such as pH and conductivity measurements. Your role will involve operating an ultrafiltration system, initiating product processes on the Process Automated System, performing chromatography using up to 80cm columns, and completing batch records. You will also assist the Group Leader in training other technicians.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize equipment before and after use.
- Oversee production operations.
- Make and verify connections on flow panels.
- Perform pH and conductivity measurements.
- Perform chemical and buffer additions.
- Operate the Ultrafiltration system.
- Initiate product processes on the Process Automated System.
- Perform chromatography using up to 80cm columns.
- Take and prepare product samples.
- Order and maintain raw material inventories.
- Complete batch records.
- Assist Group Leader in training other technicians.
Essential Skills
- Experience in a GMP environment.
- Familiarity with SOP and GMP documentation practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cleaning tools and chemicals is preferred but not required.
- Reliable with the ability to work flexible hours if needed.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work in a controlled cleanroom environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in a large-scale manufacturing cGMP regulated environment is a plus.
- Preference for candidates with plasma fractionation or purification experience.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a warehouse/manufacturing setting that is FDA and GMP regulated. The facility operates 24/7/365 with shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. Physical demands include sitting at a desk 10-15% of the time, with the remainder spent standing, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pulling, and carrying materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Potential hazards include airborne particles, caustics, chemicals, fumes, and human source products. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required. Stressors vary depending on delivery frequencies and volume of work.
