Marine Engineer/Naval Architect

Description

An established marine and industrial repair facility is currently seeking resumes to fill a marine engineer’s position.

- Looking for an experienced engineer with 1-3 years’ experience that has significant knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing with practical experience.

- Must have a mechanical aptitude, to disassemble, inspect and reverse engineer components.

- Must be able to assess accurate measurements to 0.001” accuracy to a 60” range using standard precision measuring tools such as micrometers, PI tapes, Vernier calipers etc when required.

- The ideal candidate will be using coordinate measuring equipment and must be able to use 3D modeling software.

- Experience with metrology

- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with minimal supervision.

- Perform and document in-process and final inspections, reporting any nonconforming condition to quality management for disposition.

- Must be proficient with basic office software and computers.

- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks proficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate shall have experience and significant knowledge with a variety of gauging and inspection techniques (micrometers and go-no go gauges).

The candidate shall be efficient in Solid works, Autocad, and other applicable drawing softwares.

Design, Manufacturing and machining knowledge of industrial, marine and mil-spec standards desirable.

The candidate must be proficient in English and have key communication skills to interface directly with the production dept. and supervisors.
