Job Title: Distillation Operator


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Distillation Operator to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards in the distillation and reaction process. As a Distillation Operator, you will be responsible for running process equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with GMP/HACCP/Food Safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor distillation and reaction process equipment.
  • Manage inventory through accurate paperwork transfers.
  • Charge stills and handle process plumbing lineups using hoses, hard lines, and fittings.
  • Sample and label distillation cuts and conduct Gas Chromatography analysis on samples.
  • Make run condition changes and decisions based on analysis results.
  • Adhere to GMP/HACCP/Food Safety standards at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Basic understanding of chemistry and distillation processes.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) testing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical processing and automated control systems is a plus.
  • Experience in flavor, compounding, blending, brewing, and food and beverage industries is advantageous.
  • Forklift operation experience is beneficial.
  • Candidates must complete a math assessment prior to consideration.

Work Environment

The Distillation Operator will work in a fragrance and flavors manufacturing facility located in Florida. The work environment is split between 50% outdoor activity and 50% time in an air-conditioned office. The role requires working an overnight shift from 5pm to 5am, on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule. Initial evaluation and training will occur on a Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm schedule. The team is friendly and laid-back, so team players who are not high-maintenance will thrive in this environment. The permanent position will transition to the night shift, working from 5pm to 5am.
