Job Title: Survey CAD Technician


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Survey CAD Technician with experience in Trimble/Carlson survey data collectors and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reducing field notes, preparing office surveys, performing basic mathematical and trigonometric calculations, and creating various surveys and exhibits. Clear communication with field crews, engineers, and project managers is essential.


Responsibilities

  • Work with Trimble/Carlson survey data collectors.
  • Reduce field notes and prepare office surveys.
  • Perform basic mathematic and trigonometric calculations.
  • Prepare plats, drawings, as-built, tree, and topographic surveys and exhibits using AutoCAD.
  • Perform routine analysis to check the accuracy and reasonableness of data.
  • Communicate clearly with field crews, engineers, and project managers.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience as a CAD drafter in land surveying utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Trimble/Carlson Survey Data Technology.
  • Ability to draw plats and experience with document planning.
  • Proficiency in Surveying, Land surveying, Construction, Topography, design, and survey tech.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Formal training in a surveying-related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work in a timely and accurate manner.

Work Environment

This position requires reporting to the office Monday through Friday, with working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Thursday (9-hour shifts) and 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday. The candidate will primarily work indoors, but if lacking surveying experience, they will need to spend 1-2 months in the field to learn surveying. The company provides office space and on-site training by senior CAD technicians.
