A reputable company is hiring an Ocean Export Agent!

Job Description

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department. The role involves working with a major customer that handles over 20,000 shipments annually, focusing solely on this client.


Responsibilities

  • Approve shipments for delivery to destination.
  • Manage and handle cargo once it sails from the appropriate port.
  • Enter and manage heavy documentation for each assigned shipment.
  • Ensure compliance with the respective country's policies and guidelines.
  • Enter data into the system, including shipments, departures/arrivals, cargo, and deliveries.
  • Use Excel to receive and manage daily workload and track shipments.
  • Handle minimal calls, approximately five per week.
  • Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system.
  • Track and trace Ocean Export files and report statuses.
  • Use Global Ocean Export Monitor daily.
  • Ensure timely sending of documents and communication of shipping notices to overseas partners and customers.
  • Accurately and timely bill clients and vendors.
  • Arrange international shipments, meeting customer service standards.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers, including ocean carriers and trucking companies.
  • Meet compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Understand department process flow and seek best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure all customer standard operating procedures are in place and updated.
  • Meet KPI standards in accordance with company procedures.
  • Communicate promptly with overseas partners and respond to emails and requests.
  • Escalate problems to Management when necessary.
  • Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations.
  • Complete mandatory training and meet the company standard of 52 hours of training per year.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (3+ years of logistics experience)

Nice Haves:

  • Understanding of ocean documentation process is a plus.
  • Hazardous Materials certification is preferred.
