Field Service Engineer- Lafayette, IN

Job Description

We are seeking two field service engineers to join our team, with one covering IPS Schools and the other covering the Lafayette, IN area. This role involves traveling to client sites, primarily around the Marion County and Lafayette, IN areas, with no overnight travel required. You will work with engineers on the startup and commissioning of customer systems in the electronic, electrical, and pneumatic spaces, ensuring everything is set up and functioning correctly. This role also requires updating drawing packages, setting up workstations with all necessary software, and communicating project updates and timelines with the project manager. Additionally, you will troubleshoot any issues that arise during startup and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites, primarily around Marion County and Lafayette, IN areas.
• Work with engineers on the startup and commissioning of customer systems in electronic, electrical, and pneumatic spaces.
• Follow and update drawing packages as needed.
• Set up workstations with all required software.
• Communicate project updates and timelines with the project manager.
• Troubleshoot and repair any issues during startup and maintenance.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Mechanical and electrical background.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to travel to customer sites.
• Experience in data center installation and field service.
• Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment

The role will involve working onsite at customers' locations, including data centers and schools. Although there is an office in Muncie, IN, field service engineers will rarely need to go into the office. You will be provided with a company truck, tools, computer, and phone. Occasionally, you will collaborate with other technicians depending on the size of the project, but the role will involve a significant amount of independent work.
