Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our finance team. The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing and applying incoming payments to customer accounts. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and apply incoming payments to customer accounts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cash applications.
- Communicate with customers to address payment inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate cash application.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Generate and analyze cash application reports for management.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Cash Application Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cash application procedures and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
