Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
Responsible for a wide range of inspection functions supporting quality operations. This includes reviewing documents, drawings, and specifications, as well as planning to meet quality standards. You will also create manufacturing plans for production and train manufacturing teams (Inspection and Production) to understand customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform first article inspections on machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement devices while working in compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Review planning and work instructions.
- Train quality and production teams to meet customer requirements.
- Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, hardness testers, and conductivity meters.
- Familiarize with outside processing certifications.
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings and models.
- Use Microsoft Office efficiently.
- Apply CATIA/Enovia CAD experience.
- Understand basic CMM operations.
- Understand basic CNC machining.
- Conduct AS9100/QMS audits.
- Implement Six Sigma/8D methodologies and RCCA training.
- Communicate with internal customers.
- Perform assembly inspections.
- Conduct CMM inspections.
- Approve first article inspections (FAI).
Essential Skills
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Quality Aerospace/Aircraft.
- Proficiency in quality engineering and quality assurance.
- Experience with CATIA, blueprint reading, and AS9100 standards.
- Quality inspection experience.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings/models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of CMM.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining.
- Experience with Six Sigma/8D and RCCA training.
- Familiarity with outside processing certifications.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position with hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in an engineering office area. The quality department is expanding, and this new role will help manage the increased workload coming into the shop.
