Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Description

This position will monitor 5S, shop floor management, and kaizen improvements across the business and execute lean principles at the manufacturing site in conjunction with other departments. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will coach, mentor, and facilitate within the business to create a culture that embraces 5S, value stream mapping, waste elimination, standardized work, information flow, problem-solving, strategy deployment, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate 5S Events, including invitations, presentations, and materials.
• Execute 5S Audits on the campus.
• Develop and maintain necessary policies, records, documentation, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and commitments effectively and efficiently.
• Organize teams to implement continuous improvement and other improvement activities within a reasonable timeframe.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills working across multiple locations, all management levels, and functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong systems and data management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with continuous improvement, 5S, and kaizen.
• Hands-on continuous improvement experience, especially working on the shop floor with operators and floor leaders.
• Experience with process improvement and scrap reduction.
• Knowledge of ISO standards.

Work Environment

This role will report to the coordinator and lead on-the-floor continuous improvement activities. The position offers a flexible schedule with shift hours from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, but can also be 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with minimal overtime. The role presents opportunities for growth as the department develops and is a long-term contract with the potential to become a direct hire.
