Job Title: Aerospace Quality Engineer -Agawam, MA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer with a strong inspection background and experience in root cause analysis. This role involves a significant amount of documentation, reviewing certifications and drawings, and backfilling inspections when not engaged in engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits adhering to AS9100/ISO9001 standards.
• Perform PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and First Article Inspections.
• Execute Root Cause Corrective Actions.
• Track quality activities within various customer portals.
• Support the inspection team with gage control, and inspecting and measuring dimensions on in-process parts.
• Assist with overflow of parts in production.
• Maintain daily interface with outside services and customers.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Essential Skills

• Quality engineering experience.
• Root cause analysis.
• Audit experience.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
• First Article Inspection (FAI) expertise.
• PPAP process knowledge.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measurements.
• Computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.

Work Environment

The position is based in a shop floor/manufacturing environment with an extremely casual dress code. The company has less than 50 employees, offering a close-knit team atmosphere. The work hours are from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role reports to the Quality Engineering Liaison and serves as a bridge between management and inspectors.
