Job Title: Failure Analysis Engineer
Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and results orientated individual to focus on
failure analysis, determining root causes of failures, assessing product
reliability, and completing qualifications for new and legacy products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various types of post-production testing on semiconductor devices, including high voltage, analog, and mixed-signal ICs
- Test customer returned units from the field using visual/microscopic inspection, photo-documentation, automated test equipment (ATE), bench electrical characterization, x-ray, chemical/laser decapsulation, thermal characterization
- Collaborate with external labs for advanced failure analysis when necessary
- Conduct initial assessments and in-depth investigations to formulate hypotheses for failures and address new failure modes
- Conduct qualification and reliability testing to qualify new and improved products and monitor the reliability of existing products
- Responsible for completing reports within tight timeframes.
- Manage the Failure Analysis lab, ensuring lab organization, safe equipment operations, maintenance, calibration, procedure creation, training, and continuous improvement of testing techniques.
- Support ISO compliance audits, internal audits, and other Quality programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related experience
- At least 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience is required.
- Experience with complex electronics testing or other related electronics engineering experience
- Advanced knowledge of complex failure analysis and various techniques
- Strong technical analysis skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and effective communication are crucial.
- Proven capability to manage multiple high-priority projects, deliver results, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Knowledge of semiconductor IC product design, application, manufacturing, and reliability, familiarity with industry standards (JEDEC, AEC), and experience with quality control principles and methodologies are advantageous.
- Experience with failure analysis and/or bench electronic testing equipment is preferred.
