Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and program engineers to understand product design needs and lead design for manufacturing efforts. This role requires advanced design skills, a strong knowledge of SolidWorks, and experience with mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and program engineers to gather and understand product design requirements.
• Lead design for manufacturing processes to ensure products are optimized for production.
• Develop and refine designs using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Apply industry design principles to create innovative and effective product solutions.
• Ensure all designs meet quality and safety standards.
• Manage projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform simple engineering calculations and document design processes.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in design engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Advanced design skills and product-focused creative thinking.
• In-depth knowledge of industry design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electro-mechanical design.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience.
• Exposure to DOD product design.
• Experience in CNC machine shop environments.
• Hands-on engineering experience in machining or assembly.
• Good relationship-building and effective listening skills.
• Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
