Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Civil Project Manager/Designer to assist with various land development projects in Howard, Prince George's, and Montgomery Counties in Maryland. The candidate will be responsible for using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to assist with the production of engineering designs, including but not limited to stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, site grading, preliminary design, and water and sewer plans. This is an office-based position that requires excellent software skills and related design experience. The projects will involve commercial, residential (both subdivisions and mixed-use), and industrial (flex warehouse space) developments.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for engineering designs including stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, site grading, preliminary design, and water and sewer plans.
• Collaborate with a project team comprising different disciplines such as civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying.
• Manage and meet project deadlines.
• Work on commercial, residential, and industrial land development projects.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with at least 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience in land development projects, with a focus on stormwater design and drainage, site planning, and sediment control.
• Basic project management skills or an interest in moving into project management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in engineering with 0-5 years of experience, preferably with an EIT certification or progression towards it.
• Alternatively, a non-degreed civil designer with technical certification or an associate's degree and experience in design rather than just drafting.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment, working Monday through Friday for 40 hours a week. You will be part of a project team that includes various disciplines such as civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying.
