Job Title: Electrical Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to identify customer requirements, design electrical systems and products, and develop design specifications and technical drawings. The successful candidate will specify components, wire and connector sizing, and interfaces, generate electrical schematics and drawings, and monitor hardware engineering and product costs. Additionally, the role involves maintaining electronic files of schematics and diagrams, training manufacturing employees as necessary, and processing Engineering Change Notices (ECN).


Responsibilities

  • Identify customer requirements
  • Design electrical systems and products
  • Develop design specifications and technical drawings
  • Specify components, wire and connector sizing, and interfaces
  • Generate electrical schematics and drawings
  • Monitor hardware engineering and product costs
  • Maintain electronic files of schematics and diagrams
  • Train manufacturing employees as necessary
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
  • Create bills of materials
  • Validate schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Research suitable solutions while estimating costs and schedule
  • Create models and/or prototypes of products
  • Work with the design, product management, and production teams
  • Design test plans and conduct tests
  • Record, analyze, and interpret test data
  • Prepare product documentation, write reports, and give presentations for design and other engineering reviews and meetings

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electro/mechanical system design
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, MIL spec connectors, and harness design
  • Experience with networking systems including wireless, Ethernet, and serial communications
  • Experience with generators, chargers, and battery systems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Electrical engineering skills including power supply, harness design, cable design, PCB layout, and systems integration
  • Proficiency in Altium and SolidWorks Electrical

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Strong AC/DC experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2D and 3D drawing experience (SolidWorks Routing a plus)

Work Environment

This position will be located onsite at a large engineering and production facility focused on systems integration for various surveillance and detection programs. The work environment is dynamic, offering the opportunity to support a diverse group of programs and IRAD projects in support of ISR systems for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and Foreign Military. The role involves full lifecycle systems design.
