Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

As a Controls Engineer, you will establish procedures to design and startup PLC controlled systems for material handling equipment. You must understand equipment, business, and customer requirements that drive technical solutions and participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle. This includes analysis, design, electrical designs, installation support, debugging, and supporting other engineering staff associated with electrical hardware engineering. You will also resolve basic site requirement changes and support solutions to complete designed equipment installation. You will receive company support both on-site and remotely to accomplish your work and receive system training to enhance your PLC programming knowledge for controlling conveyor systems and robotics within customer distribution centers and warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project requirements and perform basic controls troubleshooting to support equipment integration with internal engineering, project management, and customers.
• Support electrical installation by interfacing with electrical installers.
• Debug electrical installation of controls and motor components of limited complexity.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering.
• Experience programming PLCs, specifically Studio 5000, Rockwell.
• Ability to travel 65-75% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Allen-Bradley systems.
• Experience with material handling equipment and conveyors.
• Knowledge of automation and Rockwell RSLogix.

Work Environment

This role requires travel 65%-75% of the time, with a schedule of 10 days on-site followed by 4 days off. Travel is across the country to client sites. Candidates are paid during travel and are eligible for a daily per diem of $65.00. All travel expenses are covered.
