Microbiologist II

Job Description

Seeking a Microbiologist II to audit and test raw materials, R&D formulations, bulk product, finished products and the manufacturing environment against specifications and report findings in a value-added and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Audit and test raw materials, R&D formulations, bulk product, finished products, and the manufacturing environment against specifications.
• Report results and ensure accurate and timely transition of quarantined raw materials, bulk product, and finished products based on testing results.
• Validate procedures/processes, test methods, and equipment used in the lab to detect and identify microorganisms.
• Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory guidelines.
• Operate the Microbiology laboratory safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a culture of 'lean action' within the department.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Microbiology or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an FDA-regulated microbiology laboratory in the pharmaceutical, OTC, or cosmetics industry.
• Working understanding of USP standards.
