Job Title: Junior Controls Engineer - NO TRAVEL
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, test, and oversee the implementation of electrical systems for custom HVAC machinery. You will work closely with mechanical engineers and other team members to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into our machinery designs.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and controls for custom machinery.
- Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar).
- Select and specify components such as sensors, actuators, controllers, and power systems.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems as needed.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall machinery designs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs, revisions, and system configurations.
- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of machinery.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in designing and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and control system design.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, CE).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the HVAC or custom machinery industry is a plus.
- Autocad, panel design, troubleshooting, schematic design, and ability to read schematics.
- Panel Design (Not everyday that they do from scratch) (2D AutoCAD).
- Troubleshooting (No preference in PLC software), SolidWorks, ladder logic.
- Experience managing PLC programs for a manufacturing facility.
- Cross-functional communication amongst engineering teams and other teams.
- HMI programming experience is a nice to have.
- Component selection.
Work Environment
8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Business casual work environment with steel-toed boots required. No travel. Enjoy a family-style work environment with opportunities for growth and being part of a small team.
Compensation:$43.27
