Job Title: Mechanical Designer


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with experience in machine design and machining practices to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of electrical components, motor sizing, and bearing sizing/fits. This role involves designing machinery, collaborating with other engineers and departments, and providing technical support during equipment startup and evaluation phases. There is a possibility of some field work on equipment startups and evaluations, though not immediately.


Responsibilities

  • Design machinery and be familiar with machining practices.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks for design work.
  • Understand electrical components, motor sizing, and bearing sizing/fits.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during equipment startup and evaluation phases.
  • Design from concept to assembly.
  • Create and manage BOMs for design drawings.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to work on the shop floor with machines.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (2-year) or Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Work Environment

Our work environment is characterized by a start-up mentality within a new and refurbished facility. We have a close-knit team with long tenure, where most individuals have been with us for over 25 years. The facility has upgraded office and kitchen spaces, and we work on custom equipment for clients with new projects. We also benefit from capital investments from our parent company.
