Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation and modification of design concepts within the Creo/Pro-E environment, focusing on control panel layouts for industrial systems. This role requires strong design skills, engineering documentation systems knowledge, and the ability to work within a fast-moving engineering design team.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control panel layouts and wiring harnesses for industrial systems.
  • Create and modify design concepts within the Creo/Pro-E environment.
  • Work with documents, drawings, and bills of material in various formats.
  • Manage data change and version controls.
  • Coordinate design activities with local and offshore design teams.
  • Check work from designers and mark up drawings to assist in the CAD and BOM creation.
  • Discuss with customer electrical engineers to develop layouts and provide design concepts.
  • Create spreadsheets and layouts for Electrical mechanical designers.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC ampacity tables and appropriate wire gauge and terminal selection.

Essential Skills

  • BSEE or BSEET with 2+ years of experience in control panel layout.
  • Experience with 3 phase motors and VFD (variable frequency drives).
  • Proficiency in creating and reading wiring schematics.
  • Knowledge of panel layout, wiring, fusing, electrical schematics, cabling, and load calculations.
  • Experience with bill of material structure and databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of industrial electromechanical controls and panels.
  • Ability to design and layout sheet metal control enclosures and locate components with proper spacing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electro-mechanical control systems and components.
  • Knowledge of power components such as inductors, capacitors, inverters, and rectifiers.
  • Familiarity with panel design for different NEMA and IP ratings.
  • Exposure to ANSI Y.14 standards.
  • Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with change management and product customization.

Work Environment

The work environment includes supporting all product lines, including wire harnesses, schematics, sizing, and controls for various voltage supports and control panels. The engineering team is divided into multiple groups, each focusing on custom, large, medium, and small engineering projects, as well as new product development and sustaining activities. The facility features full R&D and manufacturing capabilities, with five test labs on-site, providing a great place to learn and develop your skills.
