Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer


Job Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team for a 12-month project at our DI facility in Durham. As we expect to double our production next year, you will be leading a crucial project to develop solutions to drive throughput in the plant. The ultimate goal is to identify how to achieve this increased production. The project focuses on three core areas: Supply Chain/Inventory, Manufacturing Efficiency, and Shop Floor Automation.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with best Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
  • Study production processes and machine requirements.
  • Collect process and product data to analyze and identify trends and areas of opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and train on standard work processes.
  • Develop and design new tools and/or equipment to improve process efficiency.
  • Determine and implement Facility/Cell Layouts.
  • Use lean and brainstorming tools such as Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, VSMs, Gap Analysis, and Fish Bone Analysis.
  • Lead and manage complex and technical projects, presenting results and costs to upper management.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, production supervisors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role is onsite in Durham. You will have the opportunity to see real-time improvements from Day 1, working in a dynamic environment that is vital to sustaining growth through value stream mapping and building the roadmap for the future. The facility offers a hands-on experience with significant impact on production goals and ROI. Dress code and other specific environment details will be provided upon hire.
