Job Description

As the Crisis Leader for North America, you will be part of the Supply Network Resiliency group. You will drive and manage the performance of your supply base. You will focus on providing strong supplier technical assistance, addressing low-performing suppliers that have impacted operations. Your mission is to return suppliers to health and install a zero-tolerance focus on impacting operations or customer satisfaction. You will also promote strong collaboration between the Crisis and Risk Management team and other global teams to share knowledge and competence.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze supplier capacity and investment requests.
  • Engage with suppliers and supply chains.
  • Accurately assess supplier weaknesses and provide solutions.
  • Monitor high-risk supplier development issues to prevent crises.
  • Develop and drive supplier problem-solving techniques.
  • Fix and develop supplier production systems and processes.
  • Drive supplier operational excellence.
  • Set focused priorities to reach objectives.
  • Work in accordance with GTP processes, the Code of Conduct, and the Volvo Way.
  • Represent GTP at suppliers and escalate issues as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree required, major in engineering, business management, or supply chain management preferred.
  • Supply chain quality and development and/or production experience.
  • Experience in the automotive or heavy commercial truck industry in supplier quality, capacity, manufacturing engineering, supplier development, or crisis management preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong accountability and project management for tasks without close supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose.
  • Strong integrity and creativity.
  • Flexibility and preparedness to travel with short notice.

Work Environment

This role requires travel with short notice. The work environment involves engaging with suppliers and addressing technical and operational challenges. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement and ensuring a continuous flow of parts supply to North American plants. The role demands flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction
