Job Description
The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) / Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) / Superintendent is a "3 hat" position with key responsibilities for management, project quality, and safety standards. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising construction quality control and assurance programs, developing and reviewing the Accident Prevention Plan, conducting hazard analyses, providing on-site safety education, organizing toolbox safety meetings, and ensuring overall safety compliance. Additionally, the QCM creates, reviews, and amends Project Quality Plans to ensure they remain current and compliant with contracts, standards, and specifications. The Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Project Manager and Corporate Management on compliance with quality standards across all projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction quality control and assurance programs.
- Create, review, and amend Project Quality Plans to ensure compliance with contracts, standards, and specifications.
- Develop and review the Accident Prevention Plan.
- Conduct hazard analyses and provide on-site safety education.
- Organize toolbox safety meetings and ensure overall safety compliance.
- Manage, implement, and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan.
- Provide full-time safety and occupational health management, including site surveillance, inspections, training, and enforcement.
- Coordinate all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain the highest quality and administer good construction safety practices for all on-site activities.
- Maintain the job site office and close out projects.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of Federal Construction experience.
- Experience working for DoD, Core of Engineers, or NAVFAC.
- Active OSHA 30 certification.
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
- EM385-1-1 certification.
- Ability to clear badging for base.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on Federal Construction Bases.
- Knowledge of 3-phase quality control systems.
- Experience with RMS software.
- Experience with FAA projects.
Work Environment
This position is based on-site for an FAA project in Greensboro, NC, with the project slated through April 2026. The work environment includes maintaining the job site office and ensuring compliance with all safety and construction standards. The company has been awarded multiple jobs throughout the Southeast, providing job stability and opportunities for travel.
