Job Title: Safety Manager

Multi-Billion Dollar Flood Diversion Project - USACE

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures for our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in site safety management within the civil construction industry and a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures for construction sites.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports with corrective action recommendations.
  • Provide safety training to site personnel, including toolbox talks, safety orientations, and equipment usage guidelines.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address safety concerns and provide practical solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents for reporting purposes.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with Civil Site Safety
  • Experience writing Safety Plans
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to be approved by the USACE

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certification in safety management, such as OSHA 30-hour, CSP, or similar (required).
  • Proven experience in site safety management within the civil construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and safety procedures.

Work Environment

The role involves working on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. You will conduct site safety inspections, provide training, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors. The work environment requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
