Job Title: Traveling Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects ranging from $7M to $15M. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with frequent travel to project sites in New York and North Carolina. This is a full-time position requiring 3+ years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of construction projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors and onsite personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure timely progress and completion.
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Ensure that all projects comply with safety regulations and building codes, promoting a culture of safety on all job sites.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects of similar size and scope.
- Proficiency in Procore; experience with Autodesk software is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.
- Willingness to travel frequently (50% travel required) to project sites in New York and North Carolina.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with construction management, subcontractor management, commercial construction, blueprint reading, general contractor relationships, safety compliance, schedule management, and project coordination.
- Knowledge of project types such as commercial, educational, recreational centers, fields, retail, ground-up construction, fit-out, tenant improvement, and change orders.
- OSHA 30 certification and experience in construction safety and supervision.
Work Environment
This role requires frequent travel, with 50% of the time spent at project sites in New York and North Carolina. The company provides a competitive salary, a cell phone, and a vehicle allowance.
