Job Title: Systems Specialist - NY Franco
Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Specialist to start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology. The ideal candidate will provide solutions to mid-level systems problems and work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. You will be responsible for turnkey project delivery on small projects, unitary systems, small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end commissioning documentation.
Responsibilities
- Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology.
- Provide solutions to mid-level systems problems and assist others in resolving issues.
- Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
- Deliver turnkey projects on small-scale projects (80 or fewer budgeted hours).
- Manage unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU), small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end commissioning.
- Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Submit paperwork on time, including time sheets, expense reports, work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.
- Ensure total system operation from controllers to sensors, software loading, trend setup, alarms, and reports.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals, and laptops.
- Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming.
- Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.
- Set up operator workstations with associated software.
- Perform daily job database backups as advised.
- Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Track and record personal job progress and keep the Project Manager informed.
- Review customer systems and identify areas of improvement and scope issues to the Project Manager.
- Maintain a daily log of pertinent job-related activities.
- Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Maintain computer and networking skills to properly manage laptops and mobile devices.
- Understand the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls (3- or 4-year program).
- Field experience and understanding of the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.
- Ability to understand and navigate third-party control systems and integrations.
- Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous challenges requiring knowledge of various disciplines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices.
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment operation and control sequences.
Work Environment
The territory for this position covers both NY and NJ. Candidates will drive their own vehicles and will be reimbursed for daily expenses, including tolls, gas, and mileage. Reimbursements are available for up to 28 miles each way per day (56 miles/day). After transitioning to a full-time employee, a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card will be provided. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Typical hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM with no on-call shifts in the install group but opportunities for growth in software engineering and design engineering teams.
