Job Description
We are seeking an Analytical Lab Technician to join our team on the 3rd shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday. This role involves performing basic wet chemistry techniques for in-process and final testing labs. You will prepare and run samples of the product through various analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, IR, Titration (manual with burette and some automated), Density, FTIR, Viscosity, and pH. You will support R&D with pilot plant samples, work based on the LIMS system, maintain documentation, and follow SOPs. You will work independently in a team setting, collecting samples from the raw materials lab and receiving area for testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic wet chemistry techniques for in-process and final testing labs.
- Prepare and run samples through analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, IR, Titration (manual and automated), Density, FTIR, Viscosity, and pH.
- Support R&D with pilot plant samples.
- Work based on the LIMS system.
- Maintain documentation and follow SOPs.
- Collect samples from the raw materials lab and receiving area for testing.
Essential Skills
- Experience with wet chemistry or analytical instrumentation such as GC and HPLC.
- Punctual, hardworking, and able to multitask.
- Proactive in performing duties and responsibilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS in a science (preferred: Chemistry or science degree with a chemistry minor).
- Associate degree in a science (with chemistry coursework) plus 1-2 years of lab experience.
- Entry-level experience in laboratory and benchtop settings.
- Familiarity with analytical chemistry, biology, and laboratory environments.
Work Environment
You will work in an industrial lab environment with a mix of old and new equipment. The setting can be fast-paced, especially during peak times like the Delta variant and flu season. The attire is casual with a lab coat. The position is for the 3rd shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday, with initial training on the 1st shift. You will also receive training to learn the LIMS system.
