Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated CT Technologist to perform CT scans on patients using specialized equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up the room correctly, checking for any medical issues, ensuring patient information is accurate, and preparing patients for CT exams. You will explain procedures and equipment to patients, administer contrast media and medications, and perform VNA punctures when needed. Maintaining the CT area, handling image acquisition, archiving, transmitting, printing, and monitoring equipment are also essential parts of the role. Additionally, you will manage supplies, help with patient scheduling, and adhere to healthcare privacy and safety rules while upholding core values.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans on patients using specialized equipment.
- Set up the room correctly and check for any medical issues.
- Ensure patient information is accurate in all systems.
- Prepare patients for CT exams, following all necessary steps.
- Explain the procedure and equipment to patients to help them understand and cooperate.
- Administer contrast media and medications according to regulations.
- Perform VNA punctures when needed and keep skills up to date.
- Handle image acquisition, archiving, transmitting, and printing as needed.
- Monitor equipment for any issues and report problems.
- Keep equipment running smoothly to ensure patients can access it.
- Manage supplies and equipment operations.
- Help with patient scheduling if necessary.
- Follow certification and licensure requirements for administering medications and operating equipment.
- Adhere to healthcare privacy and safety rules and uphold core values.
Essential Skills
- Certification in ARRT (CT)
- At least 1 year previous CT experience
- Current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of employment and keep current thereafter
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
Work Environment
Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm. No holidays, weekends, or overtime!
Equipment includes HDR and 4D sim, handling 25-30 patients a day. The role involves both patient care and non-patient care environments requiring frequent contact with office staff and physicians. Work may be stressful at times. The team member will be exposed to radiation, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Personal protection is required. Radiation exposure will be monitored by a film badge.
