Job Description

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples, handle routine and complex technical procedures, and ensure accurate and timely processing within the laboratory information system. Your role will include phlebotomy, specimen collection, machine calibration, troubleshooting, documentation, and following appropriate regulations. Occasionally, you will communicate test results to parents.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples.
• Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in the laboratory information system.
• Handle phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing of patient samples.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory machines.
• Document procedures and adhere to regulations.
• Communicate test results to parents as needed.

Essential Skills

• 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of Chemistry and Biology.
• Medical laboratory skills.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy on children.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelors in Medical Lab Science (MLS).
• Regular Science Degrees with 1 year of lab experience.
• Bench laboratory experience.
• No ASCP certification required but beneficial.

Work Environment

You will work in a laboratory setting, primarily with children as patients. The role involves handling various laboratory equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
