Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are hiring for a Quality Engineer within an Automotive Market Quality division. This role focuses on conducting activities to support achieving department performance metrics and targets. The Quality Engineer will implement countermeasures when necessary to ensure department results.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of failed warranty parts. Subject components and vehicles to test conditions in an effort to identify failures and simulate possible causes or influences. (30%)
• Identify warranty problems related to design, manufacturing, or sales/service influences, promote and carry out investigations, and determine root causes. (25%)
• Perform technical writing, documentation, and reporting, and present summaries to quality management. (20%)
• Communicate with suppliers, design, and service teams to appropriately support problem investigation and resolution. (15%)
• Work with responsible departments and suppliers to facilitate appropriate problem containment. (5%)
• Support cost recovery efforts and negotiations by meaningfully examining warranty data and associated analysis records. (5%)

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, electrical technology, mechanical engineering, or equivalent related work experience.
• 0-6 years of experience based on education.
• Ability to investigate technical problems, derive conclusions from observations and data, and analytically approach root cause.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with transmission, quality engineering, and quality assurance.
• Co-op experience, transmission assembly, automotive repair, and automotive maintenance.
