Job Summary: The Procurement and Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control processes to ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and products at optimal costs. This role involves managing supplier relationships, coordinating with various departments, and implementing effective inventory management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and products.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor market trends and assess supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Implement inventory management software and tools to track stock levels and forecast future needs.
Cost Management:
- Analyze procurement and inventory costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and manage budgets for procurement and inventory activities.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement and inventory management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of materials.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address any issues related to procurement and inventory.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and inventory activities.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the procurement and inventory team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and inventory management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management techniques, and relevant software.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
