Automation Controls Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. This role involves fulfilling project assignments individually or as part of a project team, with the potential to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering detail development, technical documentation, PLC and HMI application software, and AC/DC drive equipment configuration.


Responsibilities:

As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will:

  • Engineering Detail Development:Provide engineering detail and collaborate with internal drafting resources to develop drawings.
  • Technical Documentation:Develop technical documentation and specifications.
  • Software Development:Write PLC and HMI application software.
  • Drive Equipment Configuration:Configure AC/DC drive equipment.
  • System Testing:Develop system test plan documents, simulation code, and perform system testing.
  • Project Coordination:Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and/or end customers to commission systems.


Hard Skills:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Engineering detail development
  • Technical documentation and specifications
  • PLC and HMI Programming Exp(Allen Bradley/Siemens)
  • AC/DC drive equipment configuration
  • System test plan document development
  • Simulation code development
  • System testing


Soft Skills:

Additionally, you should possess:

  • Technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information to internal partners and customers
  • Coordination with project managers and design engineers
  • Troubleshooting
  • Commissioning systems


Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position located in Willoughby, Ohio. This role involves approximately 25% travel, with all expenses fully covered. When not traveling, you will work in-office at a brand new, recently built facility. All travel occurs either at the beginning or end of the project life cycle.
