Actalent Services is looking to hire a Design Engineer in Tulsa Metro Area.

Job Description

The Design Engineer I is responsible for the production engineering of products sold. This position serves as the technical lead for assigned jobs and supports other jobs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review and apply project specifications; summarize for design and fabrication drawings.
• Serve as the primary technical contact with clients, including problem resolution and securing necessary customer document approvals.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather information needed for technical activities (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineer, Project Manager).
• Perform and/or check design calculations.
• Create pre-Bill of Materials (BOM) to order long lead materials.
• Coordinate with drafting personnel to complete fabrication drawings.
• Review fabrication drawings for the job; create or modify fabrication drawings as needed.
• Answer questions and provide support to Purchasing and Manufacturing.
• Manage and organize electronic records associated with assigned jobs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Products.
• Experience with RCS or COMPRESS design software.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing, and bill of materials (BOM).
• Experience with shell and tube heat exchangers.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university, or an Associate's degree plus 10 years of industry-related experience, or 15 years of directly related industry experience showing progression to competency of essential job functions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 design and construction standards.
• Experience in mechanical design, pressure vessels, and fabrication.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with business casual attire, including a collared shirt. Typical work hours range between 40-50 hours per week.
