Job Title: Medical Scheduler


Job Description:

The medical scheduler will monitor providers' orders, identify patient information, and verify all processes have been completed for timely scheduling. The role involves coordinating with other facilities to ensure that all orders from the provider are complete, allowing for accurate treatment. The medical scheduler will have the opportunity to coordinate care for patients with a variety of diagnoses ranging from blood disorders to complex cancer diagnoses.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients in coordinating treatment and appointments according to orders from the provider via telephone.
  • Schedule office visits, treatments, labs, and imaging with an emphasis on complete care coordination scheduling.
  • Schedule orders in queue in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate and work with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Maintain appointment reminder phone system.
  • Cross-train in other areas such as Prior Authorization.

Essential Skills:

  • At least 2 years of previous experience in a medical office setting, including experience in scheduling, electronic medical records, and practice management systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Decent tenure of at least 1 year or more.
  • Good customer service representative attitude.
  • Good proven attendance record.

Work Environment:

This position operates Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm. You will work with a team of other schedulers at the business office located in downtown Salem.

Compensation:$24.01
