Job Title: Medical Assistant - Oncology

MEDICAL ASSISTANT WANTED!!!

M-F 830am-5pm OR 4x10 shift working 7am-530pm

***Bi-Lingual in Spanish or Russian offers additional pay***


MUST HAVE

  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant certificate
    • Must be active or able to get within 60 days of starting the role
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments
  • Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software

Description

The Medical Assistant is key to department success because these front-line team members create efficient flow and a welcoming atmosphere for our patients on a daily basis. This position is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Daily schedule management and timely documentation within the electronic health record creates smooth patient flow for the provider. MAs use critical thinking and problem-solving strategies to assure timely, professional, and compassionate care.


Job Duties

  • Record patient’s medical history, vital statistics, clinical summary, and health maintenance.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examination, keeping the rooms neat, clean, and stocked.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, height, allergies and current medications.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the Physician.
  • Give medically appropriate instructions to patients under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Upload documentation to EMR.
  • Ensure all related patient information is in electronic record prior to appointment.
  • Prepare FMLA, prior authorizations and disability paperwork.
  • Coordinate outside care for patients for dialysis, SNFs, other outpatient infusion clinic, foster care homes, home health and home infusion agencies under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Schedule new and follow up appointments.
  • Clean and sanitize patients’ rooms
