Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Legacy Meridian Park in Tualatin. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for greeting patients, performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, updating patient information, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations. This role supports Randall Children's Hospital and involves interacting with pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients as they arrive at the lab.
- Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Label, centrifuge, and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Package specimens for transport and ensure correct storage conditions.
- Handle insurance and billing processes.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients.
- Answer telephone calls and address inquiries about laboratory results.
- Record maintenance data and perform decontamination tasks.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department training sessions.
Essential Skills
- Phlebotomy certification
- 6+ months of phlebotomy experience
- Previous customer service experience in any setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to take feedback well and eagerness to learn

- Initiative and teamwork skills
- Proven reliability and positive attendance
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with medical terminology
- Data entry skills
- Experience in specimen processing

Work Environment
The work environment at Legacy Meridian Park includes a strong team culture and opportunities for growth within the company. The facility is located at 19300 Southwest 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR. The schedule for this position is to be determined, and the initial contract duration is 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. Employees may occasionally be asked to float to different nearby locations. Pay Rate: $20-24/hr
