Job Description
This role is based in a small industrial and architectural fabrication shop, established in 1975. The company specializes in fabrication and machine shop work with materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, and other alloys. The office assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the office and ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Handle purchasing tasks with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Process invoices and purchase orders efficiently.
- Perform data entry and maintain supply chain and inventory records.
- Provide administrative support within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Assist with customer service and office management tasks.
- Manage payroll and process orders.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing.
- Experience processing invoices and putting through purchase orders.
- Administrative experience within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant office experience, preferably in a purchasing role.
- Experience handling payroll and invoices.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment.
Work Environment
The office environment consists of around 8 people, though not all are present at the same time. You may often work with 1-2 others. The role is set within an industrial manufacturing environment with flexible work hours from 9am-5pm. Two weeks of hands-on training will be provided, after which you will be expected to perform the job efficiently.
