Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. In this role, you will assist the provider throughout the clinic with various duties including lab draws, paperwork, vital signs, and scheduling. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient charts, scheduling appointments, and providing support to patients and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for lab draws for all patients.
- Occasional paperwork, such as intake forms, vital signs, and scheduling.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports.
- Track and request patient records, slides, and films; document as necessary in the charts.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments and notify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedules.
- Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters.
- Relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion.
- Conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and 'no-shows'.
- Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory (BP, TPR) measurements and weight on each patient; alert physician of abnormalities.
- Perform medical history on each patient prior to being seen by the physician.
- Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in clerical areas.
Essential Skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant
- Proficiency in taking blood pressure and vital signs.
- Experience in family practice settings.
