Job Title: Medical Lab Technologist

Job Description

Actalent is currently partnering with a lab in the Nashville area in need of multiple Medical Lab Technologists/Medical Lab Technicians to join their team. They are hiring for Generalist and Core Lab roles.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with the processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP certification preferred (requires TN license if not ASCP, AMT, or AAD certified).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist or MLT required.
