REMOTE Satellite TT&C Systems Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a Satellite TT&C Systems Engineer to engage in the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of Platform Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) systems across various frequency bands. This position involves conducting link budget analyses, providing input on antenna scattering, assisting with systems engineering documentation, and ensuring the inter-operability of TT&C subsystems with satellite payloads. You will also support various milestone reviews and contribute to the overall communication concept of operations.


Responsibilities

  • Engage in the design of Platform TT&C systems across various frequency bands.
  • Conduct system-level link budget analyses.
  • Provide input on antenna scattering analyses and review the results.
  • Assist with systems engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, compliance statements, verification matrices, and design descriptions.
  • Prepare interface control documentation for TT&C subsystem interconnections with other Platform subsystems.
  • Resolve TT&C-related issues on integrated satellite and Platform Engineering Model (FlatSat) test setups.
  • Ensure compatibility between Platform TT&C subsystems and satellite payload.
  • Contribute to the overall communication concept of operations (ConOps).
  • Support various milestone reviews (EQSR, SRR, PDR, and CDR) at customer, MDA, or subcontractor sites.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in TT&C Systems (Telemetry, Tracking, and Command)
  • Strong RF (Radio Frequency) expertise
  • Experience with communication subsystems including transceivers, couplers, filters, and antennas
  • Experience with communication standards and regulations including ITU, CCSDS, and ETSI

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in antenna scattering analyses
  • Experience in preparing Interface Control Documentation (ICD) for TT&C subsystems
  • Knowledge of Communication Concept of Operations (ConOps)
  • Familiarity with milestone reviews such as EQSR, SRR, PDR, and CDR

Work Environment

This is a remote opportunity with 20% international travel. Travel will consist of 4-day trips once every 3 months. All travel expenses will be covered.
