Job Title: Windows 11 Migration Technician
Job Type: Contract (9 months to start, with potential for long-term or permanent employment)
Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX 78259
Pay: $20-25/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Windows 11 Migration Technician to support the deployment and transition from previous Windows versions to Windows 11 across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in system upgrades, imaging, troubleshooting, and end-user support to ensure a seamless migration process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning and execution of Windows 11 migrations, including hardware/software compatibility assessments.
- Perform clean installations of Windows 11 across multiple devices through the imaging process.
- Ensure proper data backup and restoration before and after migration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the migration process, including driver compatibility, application functionality, and network connectivity.
- Work with IT teams to configure and optimize Windows 11 settings, policies, and security configurations.
- Provide technical support to end users during and after the migration process.
- Document migration procedures, issues, and resolutions for future reference.
- Assist in software reinstallation and user profile configurations post-migration.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and best practices.
- Install new memory into 1000 laptops, confirming they are damaged or reusable.
- Take in laptops and deploy them to end users.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in Windows OS migrations (Windows 10 to Windows 11 preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with imaging and SCCM.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile management.
- Understanding of software compatibility testing and remediation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to assist end users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with hardware, asset work, and imaging laptops.
- Skills in support, desktop troubleshooting, installation, customer service, hardware, service, Active Directory, cable management, Windows installation, deployment, and help desk.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
- Experience in enterprise-level IT environments.
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell) for automation.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to lift and transport IT equipment if necessary.
- Flexible work hours depending on migration schedules.
- Mon-Fri core hours.
- 1 tech needed in San Antonio office.
