Drafting Manager

Actalent Services is seeking a CAD Manager/Drafting Manager for our client in the Camas, WA area! This is a long-term, direct placement job opportunity.

Job Description

We are looking for a drafting manager to oversee a team of drafters making fabrication drawings for client specific equipment.

This person will need 5+ years of AutoCAD and Inventor experience. As well as 1-2 years of engineering leadership experience. This person will be overseeing a team of five drafters and needs to be able to be direct and lead them through multiple projects as the subject matter expert on fabrication/shop drawing. This person will also be communicating with clients and internal fabricators and shop employees and needs to be able to take an idea or concept from internal team or client and design and delegate the design from scratch. This will require them to spot check the teams work to assure they are creating drawings to the standard / guidelines the customer requests.

Skills & Qualifications Needed:

• Leadership capabilities and past experience overseeing an individual or individuals (managing projects from start to finish, need to have delegated work to a team and know how to prioritize projects (based on urgency))
• Inventor and AutoCAD design experience
• Be able to evaluate sketches and designs and get them up to spec.
• Experience working and designing within metal and wood fabrication.
• Strong communication skills with internal employees and external clients
